Newly released research briefs on the use of school resource officers.
Drawing on federally funded work by the National Institute of Justice, this recently released set of eight research briefs highlights findings from recent research on the activities of SROs, their impacts on safety and discipline, and the relative benefits and costs of using SROs in schools.
This work is co-authored with Benjamin Fisher, Samantha Viano, and Aaron Kuphcik and draws on an extensive study of the scale-up of SROs in two suburban school districts in the southern United States.
